Well, we thought it may be busy but 23% busier than the same record breaking period last year surpassed everyone’s expectations!
23% more buyer enquiries and 21% more Boxing Day property launches a great start to 2022 certainly do make!
From a buyer’s point of view, we can only hope this continues as more properties become available. Offering the choice that has been lacking over the last 18 months would certainly take some of the stress away from what, even in the best of times, can be a stressful process.
From a seller’s point of view, if there are 21% more houses marketed this year than last (slightly too early to gauge after 6 days but you know how much fun crystal ball gazing is!) then quality marketing and keen and sensible pricing will be key to success. The continued escalation of property prices from the insane to the ridiculous should begin to level with more buyer’s choice becoming available.
Rightmove’s exceptional data does correlate with our own too. The increased levels of valuations and instructions will certainly ease some of the “search stress” many buyers are experiencing.
Hopefully many of those homeowners already sold, will also, very soon, find their next ideal homes too.
